ABOUT THE ROLE
Spare-it is seeking a highly motivated Data & Systems Intern for the Spring 2026 session (January, 2026 – May, 2026). This role sits at the intersection of data visualization, internal tooling, and operational efficiency. The intern will develop dashboards, support system integrations, and build lightweight internal tools that help us understand our data and work more effectively.
This internship is an opportunity to support Spare-it’s Operations, Customer Success, and Business Systems functions by turning raw data into actionable insights, improving internal workflows, and building clarifying dashboards using the Amazon Quick Suite, HubSpot, QuickBooks, and other internal platforms.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Data Analysis & Visualization
- Build dashboards and reporting tools using the AWS Quick Suite (particularly QuickSight).
- Create dashboards and reports that pull from HubSpot, QuickBooks, and other internal systems.
- Transform raw data into insights that support internal decision-making and operational clarity.
Data Standardization & System Improvements
- Clean, standardize, and structure datasets from multiple sources.
- Document data flows, dashboard logic, and tool instructions for non-technical users.
- Support ongoing improvements to internal data hygiene and system organization.
Systems Support & Automation
- Assist in building lightweight internal tools that streamline workflows.
- Identify recurring operational pain points and recommend scalable technical solutions.
- Support small automations or process improvements that increase team efficiency.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work across Operations, Customer Success, and Business Systems teams.
- Provide ad-hoc data and reporting support.
- Assist with documenting internal processes to support long-term scalability.
WHO YOU ARE
We’re looking for an intern who embodies technical curiosity, systems thinking, and a values-driven approach to teamwork.
Skills & Experience
- Working knowledge of data analysis and visualization.
- Familiarity with AWS Quick Suite (especially QuickSight), or similar experience with a strong willingness to learn.
- Experience building dashboards in HubSpot, QuickBooks, or similar tools is a plus
- Working knowledge of SQL (queries, joins, filters, basic transformations)
- Strong analytical thinking and the ability to communicate insights clearly.

- Highly organized, reliable, and detail-oriented.
- Able to work independently and collaboratively within a remote team.
- Curious, proactive, and excited about exploring tools and proposing improvements.
- Passionate about sustainability, waste reduction, or environmental data.
PROGRAM & EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS
- Must be eligible for the Spring 2026 MassCEC Clean Energy Internship Program.

- All students must submit an unofficial or official transcript to MassCEC that confirms their name, their school’s name, and the year of graduation.
- Must be currently enrolled in a college or university, or a recent graduate as defined by MassCEC program rules.
- If enrolled in a school outside Massachusetts, the intern must be a Massachusetts resident and able to provide acceptable proof of MA residency per MassCEC guidelines.
- If enrolled in a Massachusetts college or university, residency outside MA is permitted.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
- Must have a valid U.S. Social Security Number to comply with E-Verify.
- Must be hired as a W-2 employee (MassCEC requirement).
- Must be able to commit ~20 hours per week for the duration of the internship (January – May, 2026).
- No non-compete agreement will be required, in accordance with MassCEC rules. However, an IP and non-disclosure agreement will be required.
