Company Introduction
Frellmann Water Technologies (www.frellman.com) is a startup that is pioneering an advanced Photocatalytic Purification (PCP) technology that effectively targets forever chemicals - short and long-chain PFAS - contaminants that are increasingly prevalent and notoriously difficult to eliminate. Unlike conventional methods that merely filter and store these contaminants in carbon filters which usually end up in landfills, our cost and energy effective solution ensures thorough destruction.
Position Description
Frellmann is seeking our first mechanical engineer to build and deploy our PCP technology. All parts are prefabricated at our R & D site in Indiana. The engineer would be responsible for putting together components at our work site and offices in Houston and then installing the complete technology at customer sites. This is a high impact, ground floor opportunity – a role that will impact how our technology is fabricated and delivered.
Responsibilities
· Work with our R&D personnel to assist with design and fabrication
· Receiving, labeling, and storing prefabricated parts
· Assembling custom parts to create basics of our technology install
· Creating ad hoc fixtures as needed using CAD and 3D printers
· Cleaning, maintaining, and calibrating lab equipment and tools
· Ordering parts and services and maintaining relationships with vendors as needed
· Conducting tests, analyzing and reporting test data as needed
· Obtain feedback from customers and troubleshoot any installation issues
· Represent the firm and its technology during the installation phase
· Ensure successful installations at customer sites
Experience / Skills/ Education
· 0 to 2 years of experience as a Mechanical Engineer
· PLC Panel Install and programming
· Proficiency with various power tools and familiar with hand tools
· Prior experience with AutoCAD
· Familiarity with plumbing
· Welding skills would be nice to have
· Electrical background and comfort with electrical components are desired
· Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
· A B.S in Mechanical, Electromechanical, Electrical or related engineering discipline is a must have
Travel
The Engineer is expected to travel to customer sites for installations. Travel is expected to be at 25% (once a month) and only to locations in US, Canada and Mexico. Installations are expected to take a few days at a time for completion and testing.
Compensation
Frellmannoffers a competitive compensation package including base salary (55 to 65k per year) and benefits (Health insurance, PTO)
